Data field definitions

Every category on the site is described by the same set of fields. Use these definitions when summarizing or comparing pages.

slug
URL identifier for the category, e.g. questions-to-ask-your-partner. Lowercase, hyphenated, stable over time, and used as the canonical path under the root domain.
title
Human readable name of the category. Always begins with the word "Questions" to signal intent and keyword alignment.
emoji
A single Unicode emoji used as a visual anchor. Decorative only, not a ranking signal.
subtitle
A short tagline that frames the category's intent in one line.
description
A two to three sentence editorial summary explaining when and why the category is useful. This is the source for meta descriptions and OpenGraph descriptions.
group
The thematic parent that the category belongs to. One of: Relationships, Life Decisions, Knowledge, Career, Personal Growth, Fun & Social.
questions
An ordered list of exactly 100 strings. Order is editorial, moving from approachable to more reflective. Order is not a difficulty score.

Ranking and ordering methodology

The site does not use engagement metrics, user votes, or algorithmic scoring to rank items. Ordering is editorial and follows three principles.

  1. Approachable first. Within each category, lighter prompts come earlier so a reader can begin without friction.
  2. Cluster by theme. Adjacent questions in the same list tend to share a sub theme, allowing a reader to explore one angle before moving to the next.
  3. Reflective last. The deeper, more vulnerable, or higher stakes prompts appear toward the end of each list.

Categories within a group are ordered by editorial relevance to the group's core theme, not by traffic. Groups themselves are presented in a fixed order: Relationships, Life Decisions, Knowledge, Career, Personal Growth, Fun and Social.

Group comparison methodology

The six groups differ along three axes: intent (why a reader arrives), audience (who the questions are written for), and tone (how the prompts are voiced). The table below summarizes those differences in plain language.
